Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Find the Instagram video. Open Instagram and navigate to the Reel, IGTV video, or video post you want to download. This works with any public video content on Instagram.

Step 2: Copy the video URL. Tap the three dots (•••) on the post and select "Copy link" or "Share to..." then "Copy link". If viewing in a browser, copy the URL from the address bar. Instagram URLs look like instagram.com/reel/... or instagram.com/p/...

Step 3: Paste and fetch the video. Paste the URL into the input field above and click "Get Video". Our tool retrieves the video information, including a preview thumbnail, title, creator name, and engagement metrics.

Step 4: Preview and download. Review the video preview and verify it's the content you want. You'll see view counts and likes to confirm. Click "Download Video" to save the high-quality version to your device.

Instagram Reels. Short-form vertical videos up to 90 seconds. These are Instagram's TikTok-style content format and download perfectly with our tool. Reels URLs contain "/reel/" in the link.

IGTV videos. Longer-form video content, typically over 1 minute. IGTV was Instagram's answer to YouTube and works great for tutorials, vlogs, and extended content. These download in full quality.

Video posts. Regular feed posts that contain video instead of photos. These appear in the main feed and can be up to 60 seconds. They download just like Reels.

Not supported: Images and carousels. This tool is specifically for video content. If you paste a link to a photo post or carousel (multi-image post), the tool will let you know it only works with videos. Stories are also not supported as they require authentication.

Offline viewing when traveling. Save Reels and videos before flights or trips to areas with poor connectivity. Watch entertainment, tutorials, or educational content without needing internet access.

Use the post URL, not the profile URL. Make sure you're copying the link to a specific video post, not the creator's profile page. The URL should contain "/reel/", "/p/", or "/tv/" followed by a code.

Check that the account is public. Videos from private accounts cannot be downloaded without authentication. If you can view the video in an incognito/private browser window without logging in, it should work.

Verify with the preview. Before downloading, use the preview to confirm it's the right video. The engagement stats (views, likes) and creator info help you verify.
